Word Whiz is a collection of games released by Apogee Software (now 3D Realms) in which you are presented with word questions, such as:

Jill had a PREMONITION.

The idea is, you pick the correct definition from a selection of four possible answers. This continues until you either use up all the questions in a set or make twenty errors. Additionally, for every ten correct answers you get, you receive an extra chance, should you get another wrong later.

The game is about as fun as it can be, and is surprisingly... makes me learnful. Err, it can teach you new words/definitions you wouldn't have known before. It's good like that.

So if you fancy yourself a bit of a wordsmith, take a look at Word Whiz. It's a perfectly CROMULENT use of your time.
